In the twentieth century, mechanization and the progressive dismantling of the old agricultural mode of production also eliminated all those handcrafted activities linked to the countryside, such as handmade weaving. The result was that from the 50s and 60s the fulling mills and mills fell into disuse and were finally abandoned.
However, it is known that until 1966 orders for tamped blankets were still accepted. This indicates that the Mosquetín fulleries may have been the last in use in Galicia. The final blow came between 1966 and 1970 with the construction of the neighboring fish farm. This modern facility acquired the water rights of the old dam and built new concrete channels to direct it into its tanks.
By the beginning of the 1980s the buildings were already completely abandoned and showed significant conservation problems such as of their partially fallen roofs and deteriorated machinery.
